AI4ART & MEDIA 2024 aimed to foster a robust AI technology sector in Ukraine, focusing on media, TV, and film production, leveraging best practices from US studios. The event featured a distinguished lineup of in-person and online speakers, including prominent figures from Hollywood’s media landscape.
Renard Jenkins, President of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, shared insights into evolving filmmaking and journalism practices. James Blevins, Co-Founder of Mesh, discussed the future of filmmaking through immersive technologies. Caleb and Shelby Ward, Founders of the YouTube channel Curious Refuge, shared their expertise in AI storytelling. Mike Gioia, Co-founder of Late Arrivals studio, highlighted AI's role in global innovation. Maxym Iakovliev from Air Media-Tech and Dr. Yurii Bondar from the National University of Kyiv provided critical perspectives on AI in media and journalism.
The forum also featured a screening of AI-generated films, "The AI Content Swallowers Night." Denys Krasnikov emphasized the importance of nurturing talent and innovation in Ukraine despite the ongoing conflict.
